FACILITIES AT STONEHENGE

Parking

Parking is available on site. This is free to English Heritage members and Stonehenge ticket holders. A parking ticket is required if you are not visiting Stonehenge itself. These can be bought from ticket kiosks on site. Download a map of the new road access and parking. There are bike racks at Airman’s Corner for five bikes and at the Stones for ten bikes. A Visitor Shuttle service operates frequently from outside the shop. No need to pre-book. Takes 10 minutes to reach the Stones. Shuttles stop at Fargo Plantation (about halfway to the Stones) so that visitors can walk part of the way if they wish.

Food and Drink

A 110-seater counter service café serves hot and cold drinks, soup, sandwiches, cakes, salads and other sweet and savoury delicacies. Visitors can enjoy countryside views while eating delicious food, either inside or outside, where there is additional seating and tables for 60 people under the dappled shade of the canopy roof.

Shop

The gift shop offers an extensive range of books, gifts and souvenirs, many made in the UK exclusively for Stonehenge.

Toilets

Male, female and accessible toilets at the visitor centre. Please note that there are only emergency toilets close to the Stones.

Dogs

Assistance dogs welcome throughout. Dogs on leads allowed around the outside of the visitor centre. Dogs also welcome on National Trust land.

Museum

The new visitor centre contains nearly 300 archaeological treasures, which were used or buried at Stonehenge, and are now displayed on site for the first time.

Exhibition

Discover the story of Stonehenge: the stones, the landscape, the people and its meaning, through a powerful combination of cutting-edge audio-visual experiences and incredible ancient objects.

Gardens

No formal gardens, but there is a choice of walking routes available within the World Heritage site, which are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

English Heritage welcomes all photographers to our sites and we hope you will share your pictures with us on Flickr and Facebook.
We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.
