Lacock
Set in rural Wiltshire, Lacock village, dating back to the 13th century, is famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and its more recent role as a television and film location for Harry Potter. Learn about the wool industry, which made Lacock a prosperous and thriving town during the middle ages. The village was well placed as it was on the “cloth road” from London and the River Avon, which gave access to the sea at Avonmouth near Bristol.
Roman BathsNo tour of Bath would be complete without a visit to the famous Roman Baths that gave the city its name. This beautifully preserved bathing complex still flows with water from Britain’s only hot spring. Marvel at the dazzling torch–lighting ceremony as dusk falls (not applicable in summer) and sip Bath’s healing waters in the Pump Room, a stunning neo–classical salon.
